✨New item!✨ Titan’s Greatbow Weapon (longbow), very rare (requires attunement)
This massive longbow is bound together from a bundle of saplings. Runic enchantments engraved into metal rings along its limbs empower the wielder with the strength to wield it. The bow has a normal range of 200 feet and a long range of 800 feet, and you have a bonus to damage rolls equal to your Strength modifier or +2, whichever is higher.
Enlarging Arrow. The bow has 5 charges, and it regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. When you make a ranged attack with the bow, you can expend 1 charge to cause the arrow to grow to immense proportions in mid-flight. On a hit, the target takes an extra 2d8 piercing damage if it is in the bow’s normal range, or 3d8 if it is in the bow’s long range. Additionally, if the target is a creature, it must make a successful DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. This arrow deals double damage to objects and structures. The arrow then reverts to its normal size.
Latia watched the quickly-moving caravan kick up dust in the valley below, and lined up her shot. As she loosed an arrow with a resonant thrum, the runic etchings of her massive greatbow flashed white-hot. Soaring through the air, the arrow quickly expanded to immense proportions. By the time it hit the lead wagon, it was as if a small tree had fallen from the sky. The wagon was instantly shattered and sent careening end-over-end. Horses, men, and a torrent of debris were flung in every direction as chaos descended upon the sundered caravan. - 🖌🎨 Like our work? If you'd like to know more about latis, Ms Maple of @may-maple-blog has posted quite a bit about them. She can answer questions on this topic, as well.
The video begins centered on Zinnia, with Maxie speaking from off-camera.
MAXIE: So, since the Mirage Sea is unique to Hoenn, would you mind sharing a little more about it?
ZINNIA: Sure! The Mirage Sea surrounds Hoenn on all sides, with some gaps, and it's a pretty spooky place! There are established trade routes that pass by it, but never through it. GPS doesn't work in the Mirages, and compasses have a tendency to spin wildly. Some people who have survived being lost recall that not just darkness, but nighttime descends very suddenly once you've crossed the border into the Mirage Sea. [She holds one finger up and the other hand behind her back.] However! There are certain species of pokémon that can navigate them.
She moves toward a mural, and the camera follows to focus on the spot she points at. The painting depicts what appears to be some sort of flying animal or pokémon.
ZINNIA: The latis are the most well-known species that inhabit the Mirage Sea. [She smiles mischievously, directing her next words to Maxie.] But I bet you know all about those, don't you?
MAXIE: [Flatly.] Our audience may not.
ZINNIA: Alright, alright. So, latis--or latios and latias, depending on their coloration--are dragons. They're sapient, and have their own culture completely divorced from that of humans. They're also psychic, which is pretty cool! Anyway, aside from a certain group of humans who I'll get to in a second, latis are the only known sapient inhabitants of the Mirage Sea. Rayquaza can also navigate them, naturally, but we're not really sure where it is when it's not very kindly doing something for the Hoennic people.
She claps her hands together, grinning.
ZINNIA: Now! You may be wondering, if the latis are pokémon, don't they have human partners sometimes? And the answer to that is yes! Ancient Draconids and other Hoennic people were frequently partnered with latis, and as such had access to the Mirage Sea. When exploring the Mirages today, you can see the ruins of their outposts on certain islands.
MAXIE: As a Draconid yourself, and a Lorekeeper at that, have you ever been to the Mirages?
ZINNIA: [Her smile grows.] Astute question, Mr Archivist. I have. Though we've somewhat fallen out of contact with the various lati flocks that travel across Hoenn, we do have records--stories--of where they frequent. Right after I became a Lorekeeper, I decided we needed to reconnect. So Thistle and I set off across the ocean, and encountered a flock pretty quickly. Their flight paths haven't really changed over the years, apparently. They weren't very familiar with humans, but they let me stick with them for a few days to see what I could see.
Her smile grows wistful.
ZINNIA: Man, it's nice to be able to just take off into nature, isn't it? Anyway, the Mirage Sea is beautiful. It's untouched wilderness. The ocean stretches on forever. You can see so many stars, and they're so different from the ones you get used to here. I had copies of some old starcharts from when the Draconids still sailed the Mirages. They mapped constellations you just don't see here.
She hesitates for a long moment, and then perks up again.
ZINNIA: Anyway! Pretty wild, huh? [She frowns playfully.] Hey, am I gonna get to ask you any questions, or is this a one sided kinda thing?
[End video ID.]

Pokemon Emerald Random Team Run Part 1
Here we go. Emerald version, which I haven't played in... I don't even remember.
Rules are pretty straight forward. As soon as I can access the Pokemart, I'm going to run the random number generator 6 times and use whatever Pokemon that corresponds with it. I will require cheats to run into and catch those Pokemon at level 2, and beyond that no restrictions.
I'm okay with using Legendary Pokemon in this run because as of Generation III, stat experience is gone and replaced with EVs. Therefore it is no longer possible to raise every stat, which means Legendary Pokemon can no longer have every single stat be significantly higher than all the other Pokemon.
Oh, there is one restriction though. This is Emerald version with a depleted game battery, which makes RNG abuse insanely easy. So... no RNG abusing. I've done it many times already to RNG Latias and Latios, and a Machop across three separate runs for Mimic + Rage glitch abuse for Generation IV and V, which is the pinnacle of unfairness... and did not survive the transfer to XY. Heh. A No Guard Machamp with Sheer Cold? That doesn't seem fair.
Anyways. I'll run the random number generator (... RNG) later. If I don't get anything that can use Dive or Waterfall... I'll cross that bridge if I get there.
... No parentheses? Huh. Wait, I can't be the random function then! No! This is doable in RGBYGSC but not in RSE?! Damn it. There goes Rand()...
... Sure, why not. I'm no longer a random function with no parameters. Instead... hmm...
int Random = pk::rand(386) + 1;
There. Now the name refers to a random number between 1 and 386, in the spirit of this run, assuming I've done it right. Otherwise, either the script won't load, or there's a chance I random into Turtwig. Hehe.
Oh, and I also always liked the Emerald version's girl attire, much more than RS and a whole lot more than ORAS. Such a shame that Sapphire used it for like... a third of an arc.
Wait. ... Who the f*ck is this kid in the Birch house?! ... Sapphire doesn't have a younger sibling, does she? Interesting...
Which kid? You apparently have two! Obviously it's Brendan, and... screw that dude. That forced date sequence in ORAS was annoying enough. ... Oh. He doesn't let you ignore him. He's trying real hard to get his son a girlfriend. Boo. ... That kid got rejected hard without him knowing. Heh.
All right. I've temporarily picked Torchic because of course, and now to run the RNG and sack that Torchic in the box for eternity. But this RNG doesn't seem to be all that random. It almost always gives me numbers from 100 to 250. I've tested it 12 times from 1 to 386 and I did not get a single Generation III Pokemon. Somehow. At that point it's not any different than the Crystal version run I did offline. So in that case... I'll run two numbers from 1 to 151, two from 152 to 251, and the last two from 252 to 386. And now...
So... 142 Aerodactyl, 130 Gyarados, 160 Feraligatr, 177 Natu, 385 Jirachi, 348 Armaldo. Even in here, the random numbers are mostly clustered together.
But that's a pretty decent roll. Almost as good of a high roll as that Crystal version run offline, which random-ed into a Houndoom that nearly solo-ed the game. No wonder Houndour is only in Kanto in the default game. The Yellow version run low rolled pretty hard, but this... okay. And I have access to Fly, Surf, Waterfall, and Dive! And Flash, which isn't strictly necessary, but hey.
Time to cheat these things out so I can officially begin.
Huh. Pokedex? I don't have it at this point in time. Hmm... when I did this in Generation II, the Pokedex did not trigger. So does GSC check if the player has the Pokedex upon a successful capture, when RSE does not? Hmm... I suppose it may have been considered as a redundant contingency in coding, since you unlock the Pokeball after getting the Pokedex in all games. So realistically, that "if" or "else" condition would never trigger. So instead of something like a "if (player.hasDex() == true)" check, it's better to immediately go into "if (player.ownPoke(WildPoke.id) == false)" for the Dex registration.
Okay. So here's the team. Adamant on Aerodactyl which is very good. I just hope Aerodactyl is better than it was in Generation I, which wouldn't be too hard. Adamant on Gyarados which... is very good now, but absolutely horrible back before the physical/special split, which happened in DP. Quirky on Feraligatr... eh, neutral nature, not the worst thing ever. Timid on Natu, which is also good. Quiet Jirachi, which... eh, the -Spd sucks but oh well. And Impish on Armaldo, which... isn't bad, but who cares, it's Armaldo.
I'm not going to EV these Pokemon, and I'm not going to look at their IVs either and try not to grimace at the horrible inefficiency. Hopefully, after so many years of not giving a damn about Pokemon games, I won't care as much about that anymore.
Now, a part of me thinks that continuing the run is going to be pretty pointless since this is a decent team with a Legendary. "Where's the challenge?" But... it's also a Generation III game. There is no challenge. I could use the exact same team I used in the Sapphire version post and have no issues. I know that Pickup was nerfed pretty badly immediately after RS so I can't abuse that, but that's pretty minor.
But this is Emerald version. I remember very little about the changes from RS, and I think it would be pretty neat to re-explore all the new additions. There's also that whole Battle Frontier thing which I'm mostly not going to bother with but will still explore. I remember the mass duplication glitch you can do there and will try that again. Once I beat Steven, I'll attempt a few glitches that I wanted to try, and explore the event locations and stuff.
Anyways, continuing!
High roll, baby. For at least the early stages of the game. I shudder to think how this would've gone if I had rolled 1 number lower and gotten Magikarp instead. Then I probably would not have used that thing against this kid here. ... Also, I was wondering why Thrash wasn't as good as I thought, and then I remembered that this was before Thrash got buffed to power 120.
Well, I warped in one from the void temporarily when I... never mind. And it also had the National Dex upgrade temporarily too! Hence I got Feraligatr's data that I can no longer check.
... Why would a pair of shoes come with those instructions?
Instructions: "Press the B Button!" Character: "Press the what now? Where? On the shoe?"
Huh. I just realized that this is the freaking tutorial. But unlike all the others, this tutorial has a story attached to it, which is actually really nice. You're not some scrub who needs to be taught how to catch a Pokemon. You're just accompanying some scrub who needs to be taught how to catch a Pokemon, who... ends up showing it to you instead.
I didn't do sh*t. Come to think of it, Wally and his family keep thanking you in this game for literally doing nothing, so... okay. Sure, why not.
... Do you know how shady you are, looking around to make sure no one's nearby, in this dark forest, and then asking for a SHROOM? You're like that shady-ass shroom salesman in Yakuza 0, who offers to sell shrooms in a dark alley near a red-light district. Of course he turned out to be just selling high-quality cooking mushrooms, but still.
"Noo! My shrooms!"
Hey, an HM that's not thrown in my face during an unavoidable scene!
Whoa, you're... um... pretty savage to a coworker who got strong-armed...
Damn. Everyone's savage in this business. "That robber must've been a dingus for stealing something he wouldn't even know how to use. And that coworker of ours is even more of a moron for getting robbed by said dingus!"
... Am I getting paid to do your job? ... Are you getting paid to get someone else to do your job? I see either a demotion or a termination in your near future. "First, you got robbed like a fool. And then some random kid recovered the package, which you then offloaded to that random kid so that she'd do your job for you twice?"
Asking a girl for her number already? Yo, I barely know you! ... And I just got this "phone". I don't even know my own number!
Yo, PEEKO-CHAN! Ahem.
I do appreciate how this guy doesn't auto-hand me the HM the moment I enter the cave or try to pass by. I actually have to talk to the guy first.
Immediately backtrack after delivering the letter to Steven so I can get Exp Share quickly. I also very much appreciate the fact that I have to know to backtrack and how to get Exp Share, instead of it being thrown in my face in an unavoidable scripted event.
That's... a lot of oil and grease and garbage that's willingly being sent into the ocean. Isn't Dhelmise from Generation... er... VII? Anyways. Isn't that thing a possessed anchor? So... you guys are creating those things, huh?
Okay. Time to do some level grinding...
... Boy howdy I picked a hell of a spot to grind. Most commonly encountering Plusle, Minun, and Electrike, and they all have Thunderwave. Joy. At least they don't have damaging Electric type moves, since 4/6 of my team is weak to Electric.
But this grind is going to take a lot of time, so I'm going to stop for now. I'll pick this up again in another day.

Description: Marie Birch, or as she prefers to be called, Mare has been involved with multiple incidents in the past five years including the unleashing of the Legendary Pokemon Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre by Team Magma and Team Aqua, the destruction of a meteor housing Deoxys on a collision course with earth, the Shadow Sky caused by Victoria Gonzap, and the recent Nihilego Incident in Alola. She is observed to have Aura Levels far exceeding that of any living being observed in recent history and is the Chosen of Rayquaza, capable of channeling godlike power. Her abilities include utilizing the movesets of Lucario and Rayquaza, speaking to and understanding Pokemon, superhuman speed and strength, and highly trained martial arts skills (for a full list of abilities see Here).
Psychological Profile: From the get go its clear that Marie Birch feels emotions very strongly. She has a hair-trigger temper and can switch between angry and cheerful on a whim. She often treats things that are commonly considered odd, unusual, or even downright dangerous as normal parts of life that everyone expreiences. Officially she has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
Unofficially, Marie has been noted to have a "Savior Complex", placing all of her self-worth on her ability to save as many people and Pokemon as possible. Her self-esteem is incredibly low, with her turning down or deflecting any compliment directed at her (on the opposite end of the spectrum she also gets angry when insulted). Furthermore she believes that crying implies that you've done something wrong and as such refuses to cry. All of this seems to be the result of an abusive upbringing as well as trauma from the Rayquaza Incident.
Marie has a strong sense of justice, desiring to right wrongs and prevent injustices. She is a big believer in second chances, offering them to any who might accept, and treats even her enemies with some amount of respect.
Perhaps her most dangerous quality is her refusal to give up. Even when pushed to her limits she continues on. No matter how injured she is or how close to death's door she pushes on. She would quite literally rather die than give up.

Jacqueline, Enigmas and Shows of Force.
Analysis written by Chris:
These last few days have been a bit odd all things considered. Those following our progress will know of Jacqueline Verity, and how she's the last of our main opponents in the middle bracket of the WCS Ultra Rank. However, there's actually very little info available for her. We know that she's Sinnohan, but there are only foreign gym badges (Kantonian ones, specifically), and no conference records, just a Hall of Fame placement from 2022. We don't even know how she got her pokemon, which, given it includes two considered to be Legendaries, is pretty surprising.
Strangely this also isn't the first time we've seen an 'enigma contestant' with multiple legendaries come out of the Sinnoh Circuit. In 2009 there was a trainer named Tobias, who appeared for the July Lily-of-the-Valley conference with a similar absence of records, swept it with Darkrai and Latios, and wasn't ever seen again.
Jacqueline has been a strangely similar case, we didn't see her at all until recently, and her conduct has been strange. I've well documented the flyby incident which you can find on my Chatter (@acetrainerchris), at the same time her apology and subsequent 'peace offering' team showcase was almost a choreographed and performative show of force, designed to offer an impression of power, without actually giving away what any of her tactics or specialties are.
Despite that, we were able to walk away with a few insights on how her team operates.
To get straight to the point: The team is quite centralized on the two legendary members, with the rest mainly playing support, so those are the ones i'm going to talk about here
The first of these is a Shaymin.
I do happen to be somewhat familiar with Shaymin, its a Grass-Type species found across Sinnoh's northern islands, given a Mythical status for its elusiveness. They have a symbiotic relationship with flowers called Gracideas. When the flowers bloom they release an energy signature that the Shaymin use to transform from their default Land form (left) to their Sky form (right). Which in the wild they use to migrate to tropical environments for the winter.
Despite its small size and meek appearance, kilogram for kilogram these pokemon are stronger than the likes of Tyranitar and Dragonite. Land form is surprisingly quick and durable, and Sky form is extremely agile in flight. Both forms also have access to a signature move called Seed Flare, which involves the pokemon absorbing airborne pollutants, 'burning' them to create energy and water, and releasing that energy explosively. Depending on the environment and the strength of the Shaymin, a use of seed flare can be like the move Explosion but reusable.
In sky form, they also have the ability Serene Grace, which improves the knock on effects of many of their moves, especially the concussive and stunning potential of Air Slash, which adds an extra element of danger in a similar way to fighting a Togekiss.
Shaymin's biggest weakness is cold, successfully tagging them with an ice type move can sometimes cause them to revert forms, which leaves them very vulnerable.
I have my guesses on what tactics Jacqueline will employ with Shaymin and how she'll cover this weakness, but after the incident I'm not going to disclose most of them.
However I will note that during her demonstration she demonstrated the use of a cut Gracidea bloom to change Shaymin's form midfight.
Her second and seemingly most dangerous legendary, is a Latias.
Latias I have less experience with, the first I had seen one was actually on the flight to Unova for the WCS a few months ago, but they're common enough worldwide that there's a decent bit of information on them. Latias (alongside Latios, its male counterpart, its a single highly dimorphic species typically referred to as Eon pokemon, which is what i'll be using) is basically a living fighter jet with psychic abilities.
Given time to accelerate, an Eon can reach flight speeds of mach 2, but this speed doesn't sacrifice durability or power. Eons are reportedly also capable of utilizing illusions, not to the same extent of something like Zoroark, but sufficient to turn themselves invisible or otherwise disguise themselves. There is a known report of a woman from Alto-Mare, Hoenn whom a local Latias mimicked so perfectly that her own friends were fooled.
[Freya's note: I expect that if Jacqueline's latias tries to spy on us or something in the future against her trainer's wishes, it'll be with this invisibility.]
Eons are also known to be capable of Mega Evolution, but given Jacqueline appears not to have a keystone, I don't expect that to be a factor during the fight.
Latias lacks glaring species specific weaknesses aside from basic type matchups, but there are a few things I think we can exploit.
First off, eons' method of propulsion is by telekinetically pushing on the air and ground (thanks @outdoor_delcatgirl for this insight), this is very precise and offers a high thrust to weight ratio, but becomes less effective when already flying forward at speed. This factor, combined with Eons (especially Latias, due to eggbearing adaptations) being very robust pokemon, means that although their top speed is very high, Latias will be slower to accelerate and turn compared to something like Eiglay the Dragapult. (this is also affected by their aerodynamics, Dragapult are aerodynamically unstable, increasing turn speed, Eons are not).
Second, is that unlike something like phantom force, Eons' illusion based invisibility is only in the visible and near infrared spectra, meaning that other forms of detection should still work. Might be able to take a few pages out of Hugh's book to keep her in our sights.
Once again, I expect Jacqueline to be aware of these and have mitigation measures planned.
After the loss against Hugh, a win here is required in order to advance to the top bracket of Ultra rank, and we'll be doing our best in order to make that happen. Quasi-Telepathy update will happen in another blog, as this is already quite long.
Until next time.

Alright, I'm in the vibe for some of this month's pairs, so let's give one more Gauntlet Sweep with Akari.
Vs. Tapu Bulu I just realized these are organized from most recent to most ancient game release. Wild. Anyway. Tapu Bulu started what you may notice is the combo. BP Olivia actually works really well with Akari, buffing both defenses and supplying the recovery from gradual healing. Her pop healing is good enough that Akari won't be distracted by Potion use too much, keeping her Buddy move's damage at its maximum. My Olivia is sadly not EX, so I couldn't go full crazy on Akari, but it's sufficient. I would also point out here, yes my Akari is 5/5. I got really lucky on the scouts.
Vs. Tornadus Lana's not a bad pick either. Unlike Roxanne, Akari doesn't have perfect gauge management, but 2-gauge spam and the TM giving +4 speed isn't atrocious. It's not great, either. But it can work out okay. Lana's the kind of defensive pick that can make use of Akari's Potion in a pinch.
Vs. Terrakion I had to do at least one with Dawn. Terrakion is a good one, because Dawn cuts off its physical attack boosting while Akari just beats it down. Her damage field counts for its Clear Advantage, so she's just a pure beatdown.
Vs. Cobalion I went back to Lana to avoid Dawn being the easy answer. Unfortunately, you need paralysis, so I brought Norman. It's fine.
Vs. Azelf This is where BP Olivia took off. She has access to Stalwart/Unbending, which is ideal to counterpick Azelf. In truth? This feels like her niche over Morty and Clemont. She's incredibly sturdy, even against Azelf. And the 5/5 really worked out here; debuffing defenses per hit let Akari keep wailing on it even with its damage reduction.
Vs. Uxie Uxie's also pretty easily handled by Olivia, we just need BP Erika for Trap/Toxic combo, otherwise we're hard walled. I went with Erika over Lucy, because Olivia already supplies Gradual Healing, which is redundant with Lucy.
Vs. Latios Easy enough, Akari just beats the shit out of them. Again, Olivia's Stalwart/Unbending combo is nice here, completely blocking Latios' bullshit.
Vs. Latias Okay, this one was a challenge. Latias could beat us, if Olivia missed. The main benefit of Akari is that her buddy move can't miss. But her main move can. So you really want to end bar 1 with regular Ceaseless Edge, to set up a long duration for Buddy move. But as you may guess, Olivia needs to hit like every attack, in order to avoid the mid-bar +6 from annihilating all hope. Fluid Fortification gets nasty. It's frankly riskier than it's entirely worth. But they can do it as a duo.
Vs. Registeel This is approximately what I did for Gauntlet. Akari at 5/5 absolutely annihilates this idiot. Without 5/5, Akari offers basically nothing in this fight, you'd need a trio to manage defense. But with 5/5, it's the hardest dunk on this list.
Vs. Regirock Regirock is much tougher. You need the flinch, or Akari just takes too much and it gets out of hand. That said, we missed flinch on the Iron Defense, so it got to block a ton of crits. Akari still pushed through. Her DPS is ridiculous.
Vs. Entei Getting a bit redundant, but Olivia also has Quick Cure, so she beats Entei's Fire Spin. By the time you get to the last bar, Akari's able to pop trainer move and blow it away in like two moves, even through burn. BP Morty is another option to flinch them.
Vs. Raikou Akari can't quite OHKO the sides pre-sync, but she comes close. She's strong enough to handle a lot of this. Also if you have Strike role, she'd probably one-shot on sync. Akari's a bit ridiculous.
Final Thoughts Akari's draw is her absurd DPS. Her Buddy move is absurdly overpowered, and if you have 5/5, it's completely over. I think lower move levels would have a much worse time with all of this. You're dealing with a lot less damage because you don't have any defense debuffs. But also, eggmons exist, and most of these are duos. Sincerely, you can just slap like Lickitung or Parasect on these fights, and cover most gimmicks and still have your debuffs. It's not a huge ask.
The oddity of Akari is that her sync kinda sucks, but she's still great at Gauntlet. Figure that out. I think it speaks well to the power of her Buddy move that she's a poor sync nuker who still pushes through. The lack of conditions like Emma and SS Lysandre, where stages can just deny the entire gimmick, makes her relatively hard to stop as well. In most situations, the DPS of pairs like this get stops cold by stages that counteract you, but nothing really blocks Akari's damage field. It's funny, really, seeing Damage Field contribute. I know it's mostly in how it unlocks better damage for her moves, but I think that's a sane approach. The damage fields can't be stopped, nor as far as I'm aware, overwritten by one another. It's an incredibly free condition to apply, so as far as multipliers go, it's about as safe as Restrain. Big fan of the design of this kit.

Mega Latias is faster, and can 2HKO with Aura Sphere.
252+ SpA Latias-Mega Aura Sphere vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan-Mega: 202-238 (48.7 - 57.4%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO
There's two issues with that, though.
1. You don't outspeed if you run a Modest nature, which you need to reliably 2HKO.
252 SpA Latias-Mega Aura Sphere vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan-Mega: 184-218 (44.4 - 52.6%) -- 22.3% chance to 2HKO
2. Mega Latias doesn't actually have access to Aura Sphere. Latias does, but she only got it in Sword/Shield - which was after Megastones were removed.
Without this option, Latias KOs in 3 hits at best with Psychic.
252 SpA Latias-Mega Psychic vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan-Mega: 154-183 (37.1 - 44.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Even with it, however, it either gets outsped and 2HKOed by Seismic Toss or misses the 2HKO the majority of the time. Latias has a max of 364 HP, so it cant avoid being tossed to death. And that's not even mentioning the option for Kangaskhan to go for Sucker Punch instead and just kill you; Latias can get around that with Roost, but it's still very much worth keeping in mind.
252 Atk Parental Bond Kangaskhan-Mega Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Latias-Mega: 160-190 (43.9 - 52.1%) -- 94.1% chance to KO after two Seismic Toss hits
It can try for fast Thunder Wave and then keep Roosting until paralysis triggers? Healing for 180 and then taking 200 each turn. That gives it 8 turns of fishing if Kangaskhan does absolutely nothing but Seismic Toss; with an expected value of 2 turns lost to Paralysis, that would give it enough time to go for a 3HKO...
0 Atk Parental Bond Kangaskhan-Mega Fake Out vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Latias-Mega: 55-67 (15.1 - 18.4%) -- approx. possible 6HKO
But even without any investment, Kangaskhan can cut that time down drastically with Fake Out.
0 Atk Parental Bond Kangaskhan-Mega Crunch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Latias-Mega: 150-178 (41.2 - 48.9%) -- approx. 3HKO
While weaker than Seismic Toss, Crunch's defense drop chance on each hit is also threatening, as after a defense drop you no longer go positive with Roost. The chance is 36% for each time Crunch is clicked - not super reliable, but you have better than 50/50 odds after just two Crunches; if your plan is to fish for paralysis for eight turns, a defense drop is going to happen eventually.
Three way matchup!
The pokémon that wins both its polls moves on to the next round.

Trying to remember what my team was in gen 4, i doubt I'll use the same pokemon but 🤔 i don't think i had found out latias was my favorite back then yet so i don't think i had her, i remember using swampert, weavile, roserade and lucario a lot but i can't remember the others
#Gui plays Pokemon HGSS#my gen 3 pokemon before finding out about latias was swampert / dusclops / altaria for the battle tower#yes i played gen 4 before i could play emerald my accessibility in terms of games has been weirdly spread out#because i started with ruby i couldn't get latias so i only caught her on emerald years later and again in hgss#in emerald i liked latias but i think she only earned favorite pokemon status in hgss lol#it's funny too because in gen 3 she was way stronger since all her weaknesses aside from bug were neutered by her gigantic sp.def#yet it was in hgss where she was considerably more vulnerable and more attacks could bypass her defenses is where she truly shines

Knowledge is Power!
PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE - readily available information to anyone with access to any source of media
- May defeated Steven Stone and retained the title of Hoenn champion for almost a decade
- She has a brother named Max.
- Her father, Norman, is the gym leader of Petalburg City
- She is originally from Olivine City, Johto, and speaks of it often in interviews.
- May was the one to quell Kyogre's wrath
- May was the one to beat the strange space Pokemon while on the back of Rayquaza. This information was revealed by a reporter named Gabby.
- May is poised to helm Hoenn's Battle Frontier, and will battle under the title of Battle Legend.
- She is very warm when giving autographs and interviews. She really does like being looked up to by young children/trainers.
- May is very outspoken about her belief that humans should not, under any circumstance, control Legendary Pokemon. She belives they should be left alone, and humans should only intervene if they pose a danger to humanity. Kyogre just wanted to take a nap there was no need to wake them up TEAM AQUA!!!
SEMI PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE/RUMORS
- May once had a nightmare of her team dying to Kyogre. She woke up panicked about it in the crowded Pokemon Center lobby at EverGrande City, so there were witnesses.
- May is really bad at cooking human food, but is a wiz at making Pokeblocks. No, she doesn't understand how she's accomplished that either.
- The information about May being the one to defeat the legendary Pokemon was actually stolen from the Mossdeep Space Center or the city of Sootopolis by the reporting team of Gabby and Ty.
NOT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE (unless plotted otherwise)
- May has a deep, deep loathing for Team Aqua, and especially Archie. Despite the façade she puts on regarding them, she wishes she'd been strong enough to tell Interpol exactly what they'd been planning.
- Wallace, Steven, and Professor Cozmo were the ones to hide any footage of May's deeds, at her request.
- May is still severely traumatized by what happened with Kyogre and Rayquaza
- May suffers from aquaphobia (phobia of water) and astrophobia (phobia of stars/space). It can be difficult for her to do things like shower, or have a romantic evening stargazing.
- Flash, her Raichu, very nearly died in the battle against Kyogre, and was the member of her team that dealt the finishing blow to the beast.
- May released Kyogre back into the Seafloor Cavern after catching it. She commanded it go back to sleep.
- She also refused to take Rayquaza with her on her journey, but does still have the ability to call it if need be.
- She never caught Deoxys. She only beat it back into deep space
- Latias is the one legendary she met that doesn't mind.

Hi Rin, TheChargingRhino here. If they guys could have legendary/mythical Pokémon, what would they choose? (Can also answer for the sequel Links if you want)
My only question here is: do the Ultra Beasts count as Legendary? The Internet says yes, so apologies in advance if that wasn't part of the original question!
Gen gets a Latias, because red Loftwing, red bird-like dragon, it fits and I will not take no for an answer. Plus, Healing Wish/Recover, she’s a Psychic type, they get a lot of access to healing moves and for the medic of the group I think that works very well. (Also yes, Mega is an option.)
Speck would have a Shaymin, I think. Small and cute but wow can it make you hurt it you don’t pay attention to it. (Yes, Forme Change is a thing)
The Four are... tricky, as they always are. I think I’d give them Deoxys, because I think the options with the Formes gives them the best equivalent for their normal M.O.
I’m gonna split Mask and Ocarina here, regardless of the Meloetta that I said they already have. Ocarina probably gets a Celebi, because Time Travel, and also because cute and mostly innocent but still dangerous if you don’t pay attention. Mask, on the other hand, gets Dialga, again because Time Travel and also because it will wreck you if you don’t take it out quickly enough.
Dusk would probably end up with a Zamazenta, because wolf, and also because protective instincts say ‘Shield’ to me more than ‘Sword’.
RGBV can each have a Tapu, because I’m original like that. Green gets Tapu Bulu, Blue gets Tapu Fini, Red gets Tapu Lele, and Vio gets Tapu Koko.
Lore is also very tricky, honestly, but I think I’d either give him an Ultra Beast, or Hoopa. Hoopa because it’s a complete prankster and they’d get along splendidly, or an Ultra Beast because they function just a little bit to the left of normality. But probably Hoopa, because I also like the concept of Hoopa Unbound and there being this underlying terror beneath the prankster shell that only their enemies get to see.
Realm... is a lot more trouble than I thought he’d be, and since I can’t seem to peg him for any single Legendary I’m going to give him the Lake Trio. Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit did not know what they were getting themselves into with this boy, but at least there’s three of them to teleport around looking for him. Good thing they’re Psychic.
Sketch seems like a Jirachi boy, for some reason. I know Jirachi has very little to do with paint or any of that but neither does any other Legendary so shush.
Wind is thankfully easy and can have Kyogre. Yes, Primal is an option. All the weather manipulation!
Steam is surprisingly tricky? I really want to give him a ghost, but I also really want to give him a steel. Ghost Zelda versus Spirit Train. Hmm. I think... ghost, probably, so heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy look who’s got a Giratina!
Shadow is not hard, at all. He gets Darkrai, they’re both hopelessly misunderstood, a bit spooky, but so very cool.
Oni... gets an Eternatus. Because those stat totals are ridiculous and also I’m pretty sure this is the only Legendary with the reputation of literally destroying the world, which I’m thinking puts these two on pretty even footing!
Rune can have Cresselia, because she has the oh-so-convenient association of memory and mind-healing and really, sometimes this stuff just decides itself.
RSE can have Entei, Suicune, and Raikou respectively. Seems to work better than any other Trio.
Lux gets Mewtwo, probably because their combined lack of chill is amazing. He’s angry, Mewtwo is angry, they’re perfect for each other.
Lyric... would have gotten Meloetta had I not already assigned it. Gah. But as a secondary choice... I dunno, Victini? Meloetta just fits him so perfectly. I think I may need to redesign Mask and Ocarina’s sub for their magical instrument of reality bending... there certainly can’t be two Meloettas.
And lastly, my OC boys! Codex, I’m gonna give a Calyrex, because look at the size of that noggin there’s no way it isn’t obscenely intelligent. And Wraith gets a Marshadow, because small and cute but unexpectedly spooky, until it turns out that it can hit like a tank and then it’s just all the way spooky.

Well-
-I actually really liked that aspect as well. Like I said, they used the destruction of Cinnabar Island as a recurring bit of trauma either directly for Green or indirectly for Red and his dad. Or that Misty's anger issues and sense of inferiority is something she addresses but naturally has issues dealing with. Or that Cheren's pursuit of truth and ideals causes him to make a massive mistake but since it's so ingrained into who he is, he can't realize that he took things too far.
There are also little aspects too, like Green's date attire being what her Adventure's self wore. Or Latias taking the form of Bianca like she kept doing in the movies. Shows a level of deep understanding of the Pokemon franchise.
All in all, it really pulls off the concept well. Better than say, Insurgence which is rather immature in comparison.
--As for the characters (this is gonna take awhile):
Red's a good protagonist for this kind of game, between his 'Frienergy' ability and just being naturally likable and friendly. Though he's rather-no, he's extremely naive with say, Klara. Although that might be my own knowledge of her character inteferring with my view. I also like the detail with him having no forgiving option for Cheren yet/him being audibly worried about Blue getting access to Foreverals to make him more human than say...Joker or Yu.
-Blue's such an asshole in the first month, it's really unpleasant since he gets so personal with Red it makes him come across as very petty and vindicative. I get that his point is that Red's ability and how Oak supports him means he kind of gets more chances than normal but given that Red in turn can't lie, which is a very big issue, I somewhat view it similar to autism: That Red has advantages and disadvantages that other people don't have. And that his chances from Oak are just that: chances. He still has to capitalize on what he's given.
But Blue does become a lot better after Week 4, where he's actively trying to be a better person. Even though he hasn't gotten over his issues, he's visibly trying to be better. Hell, I even felt like defending him when Yellow accused him of just being an asshole again because he was genuinely being that forward and honest about trying to be better.
-Jesus, I did not expect to go so hard for Green at first. On a pure attraction level, I was gonna aim for Hilda or Serena and later Dawn but Green's jokes, moments of vulnerability and sheer devotion to her friend is something else. When I said I wouldn't let her go, I was damn serious. Girl confronted a deep seated phobia for Red after only knowing him a month- you do not let a lady that high of caliber go.
-Ethan...He's giving me Sayori flashbacks so I'm just gonna pretend he doesn't exist right now.
-Brendan
-Sabrina...Jesus christ, she just got hit with the 'bad time' stick. Being able to read minds without being able to turn it off is already horrid but then she's basically FORCED to violate people's boundaries by airing out everyone's dirty laundry. And on top: She looks like THAT around a bunch of hormonal late teenage guys. She must have the world's best poker face.
-What the fuck is happening with Flannery? Who gets THAT grumpy in the mornings?
-JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, they went a complete 180 with Bianca. They went from using her as the hyperactive shortstack for comedy relief to 'Hey btw, her dad's dead and now here's the complexity of grief, bye!'
-Whitney's a pretty interesting take since she supposedly acts nice and kind...but she's clearly got MANY issues given how 'active' her social life is and how stubborn she is about changing. A bold choice to make one of your characters so flawed in a way that would make them pretty unlikable and I have to respect that.
-Hilbert's a weird case of trying to be the biggest edgelord in the whole cast (only working because Silver isn't directly trying) but also showing clear hints of both immaturity (with his childish habits) and maturity (in how he confronts Bianca about her grief and attitude). Honestly reminds me of Mordred.
-I wonder how they're gonna handle how Tia seems to proclaim herself a guardian of humanity while trying to forge connections with humans...and kind of seeing herself above them. At least they addressed the Pokephilia deal...
-I was NOT expecting Drydan to be as cool as he is but damn if he's not a good guardian.
-Lance...what the fuck man? Let me guess: his Feraligahtr was 'holding him back' and now he's got a permenant chip on his shoulder. Still doesn't excuse him for being so petty. I mean fuck, I was using the Pikachu to Parafuse everyone and he was doing great at it.
-Cheren... Look, I get the point. Red shouldn't have hide his secret. That's true. But jesus christ has Cheren done everything to demonstrate that he hasn't really learned his lesson. It's pretty clear he acted out of jealousy in some part, given that I don't remember him ever trying to confront Red privately. And now he's being so petty that he acts like Red deserved it. I get that's his arc too- to know what he did wrong. But it says a lot that he can't hold back even for Bianca.
-Klara...Well, that's one way to adapt her character: have her be an undermining bitch who shit talks everyone then verbally back tracks the moment she's getting push back. Let's just say the skimpy Salazzle dress was rather appropriate.
Well, that's my thoughts. What are yours?
So I finished Week 8 of Pokemon Academy Life Forever.
Finally got that Green date. Apparently, Klara either REALLY dislikes Green or REALLY likes Red cuz she sent in her Slowpoke to basically spray toxic shit all over the dating location. Salvaged it by not going full hog on the first date.
We got to see stuff from Cheren's POV. He's going through some shit. But A. He never even tried asking Red about Frienergy so I find it hard to feel sorry for his situation after that. And B. He didn't even bring up what happened with Bianca. Dude, that's like your kind-of girlfriend.
And it seems we have an overarching plot being set up.
All in all, a rather good fan VN. (At least the developer didn't throw a fit at canon...)
I'll try to keep up with the updates.I dunno how often they update though.
Well this was fun.

19, 21, 23, 67 for the Pokemon asks. (Also, which is your favorite spinoff game?)
Thank you for asking! I’m sorry I took so long to get to your ask and that it’s so long!
19. My favorite Pokemon game is Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and their remakes, although Sun and Moon is pretty close! While Sapphire wasn’t my first Pokemon game, it was the one I spent the longest with; if I remember correctly, I’d played around 120 hours on it before I left elementary school (and somehow still managed to not beat the game). I remember being in awe at how good the graphics were, at how you could leave footprints in the sand and watch your reflection.
On top of that, it was the first video game that had a soundtrack that really caught my attention. When I was a kid, I’d play my Game Boy in the living room while my parents watched television, or in the car while they listened to the radio, so I mostly played with the volume off out of habit. But Sapphire? I’d turn up the volume just a little bit and press my ear to the speaker to hear the opening of the rival battle, and stand by the entrance of Route 111 to hear the music before I got the goggles.
21. My favorite legendary Pokemon is Raikou. In those days, I rarely played long enough to see a single legendary, and I was too young to use the Internet, so I usually never found out about distributions until years after they happened. But when I got Crystal, my mom ended up taking it over when I got bored, and managed to get to the Elite Four. However, I’d still borrow it back when I wanted to wander around the Pokemon world for a while. And it was on one occasion that my mom warned me about these legendary Pokemon that were wandering the region and that I should under no circumstances knock them out if I found one.
Naturally, right after she told me that I found Raikou, on the route where Mr. Pokemon lives. I’d been terrorizing the Rattata and Pidgey when all of a sudden this terrifying looking creature appeared. The Crystal sprite was terrifying, and I wasn’t familiar with Raikou’s existence at the time, so I very naturally panicked and threw a Poke Ball, and panicked even more when it fled. Thankfully it wasn’t gone for good, so I saved and put the game down to recover. My mom and I never did catch Raikou, because a few short months after receiving Crystal, a former family friend’s kid stole it and the Game Boy Color I’d picked out for my birthday. But I still remembered encountering Raikou, and when I got Soul Silver made a point of having it be the first legendary I ever caught, even putting down Alpha Sapphire for a while because I was close to the Latias event.
23. My favorite music track from the games at the moment is currently the Ultra Necrozma theme. I remember being amazed about how gorgeous the organ was, as well as how desperate a tone it gave off as I tried to whittle down its health as it one-hit KO’d my team, only to find you couldn’t catch it. It definitely gave me the feeling of a fight you couldn’t afford to lose, but were losing anyway!
67. My favorite animated adaptation is the Ash Ketchum anime, particularly the movies. I don’t really remember watching the anime episodes while they were airing that much. I think at the time it might’ve been airing on a channel we didn’t always have access to, or maybe I just didn’t know at the time, or had forgotten, or had just been busy doing other things. But while buying the whole series had been out of the question then, my mom did buy me the movies, and that was mostly how I knew Ash. It was quite a shock when I started rewatching the episodes again and saw him do stuff like forget how to catch Pokemon! My absolute favorite movie has to be Pokemon I Choose You the Movie. I caught it in theaters, and I was crying almost the entire one and a half hours. You may think I’m exaggerating. I’m not.
And my favorite spinoff game? It’s hard to decide, but it’s probably either Hey You Pikachu or Pokemon Blue Rescue Team. Hey You Pikachu was technically the first Pokemon game I ever beat, and I have fond memories of hanging with my own virtual Pikachu, even if the voice recognition wasn’t all that great. And Blue Rescue Team was definitely the game I worked the hardest to beat. I spent around an hour trying to get Pikachu in the personality quest, without a game guide. I kept failing in the Groudon and Rayquaza levels, and usually I would give up if a game gave me that much trouble, but I kept trying, over and over, until I finally beat it-and it broke my heart in return. Thanks, game.
#pokemon#long post#thepotatoreader#petrixel chatters#thank you for asking me these questions#i had a lot of fun answering them!

Pokemon in Crossthicc - Trainers and Gym Leaders
TRAINERS
An important note, regarding the use of the Japanese original names of the trainers or the Americanized names; personally i prefer the original names, but I figure the English ones are more familiar. So, consider this: the majority of the Pokemon trainer characters originate from worlds and territories that were culturally dominated by, and descended from, Japan. Their actual names are, thus, their Japanese ones. However, as they learned the languages of many different worlds, they came to adopt various screen names and nicknames, regarding their real names as something personal and special. They use these names, like Ash, Brock or Dawn, among strangers, reserving the names of their homeland for only trusted family-friends.
They’re all older in this AU; around 20 years old at minimum. If they’ve been around for the majority of the fleet’s existence, they’ll be a few hundred years old, kept eternally young by longevity mods and their increasing power, and bonds to their Pokemon.
It can be generally assumed that Pokemon characters that were originally from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are descended from Japanese colonists from ancient human explorers, Unovans are a grab-bag of different colonists and ancestries, Kalosites are descended from France, and the Alolans’ ancestors were indigenous Hawaiians. Other possibilities can be worked out individually, or just going with what feels right. If non-human species feels right for them, that can also be factored in.
Finally, any Pokemon trainer can assume any trait, mod or physical mutation that would be appropriate to the Pokemon most associated with them: if they have ever trained a particular Pokemon, or it suit their theme, they can take on traits from that Pokemon. This can be a deliberate mod they’ve taken, or a consequence of growing close to their Pokemon summons.
Ash/Satoshi: Combining elements of both their anime character and Red from the first generation, he’s a bit of a dork who is staggeringly good with Pokemon. Rather genderfluid, keeping with later games allowing you to play as girl or boy without issue, though retaining a very macho attitude through it all, and not terribly bright. Generally has Pikachu traits, but has manifested aspects from all befriended Pokemon; Charizard wings, Squirtle shell, Meganium vines, Latias wings… really, it’d be easier to say what traits they haven’t got access to!
Misty/Kasumi: Endowed, favoring water-themed powers and partially transforming into a liquid state. Likes modding herself into an aquatic dragon girl or with fierce sea monster traits. She’s something of a big sister to anyone around her, but very fiercely so. Romantically involved with Ash, but probably gives them noogies. Hyper hourglass body, absolutely massive bust. Even bigger hair! That side ponytail is to get it out of the way, really. For mutations, she often has the gills, sharp claws and tail of a Gyrados, the strong horns and tough shell of a Corsola, and the angelic wings of a Togetic. She likes any mutation or power that is water-related and cute, though.
May/Haruka: Endowed, and prefers a life of showmanship and performance to the battlefield, taking part in acts of daring choreography and bonding with Pokemon through art. Her choice of mods tend to include big wings, soft fur, a dextrous tail, and big digging claws, as well as hyper flexibility for really interesting possibilities in performance art. Generally thick, but with impressively hyper breasts. Generally goes for fire powers and avian legs from her Blaziken friend, but she’s also sported Beautifly wings, Venusaur vines, and the jaws of a Snorlax (With an appetite to match).
Iris: A brash, cocky and tough fighter doing her absolute best to prove herself worthy of being Endowed, and to this end she is constantly going on adventures to power up Sierra to the point that she’ll be happy to give Iris the gift of being Huge! As it is, Iris is already a pretty big girl, with absolutely ludicrous hair mods of astounding size, and immensely wide hips for a hyper pear shape. She favors dragon-themed mods, including transforming into a mash-up of different dragon Pokemon for dicey fights. Otherwise she prefers Dragonite wings, can turn her limbs into Excadrill weapons, and a lot of Garchomp power ups. Unlike some other Pokemon summoners, she’s fine using her homeland name among outsiders.
Serana: Not technically a trainer of any kind; she just has a hard-earned knack for getting the respect of Pokemon. An accomplished dancer and racer, she has declined the opportunity to become Endowed in favor of settling down on a fleet world somewhere. Until then, she is a valued member of a performance troupe. Slimmer than average for a thicc girl, but very fit and strong, and still bigger than humanly possible. She often sports the flame powers and fur of a Fennekin, Pancham jaws, and the ribbon-like tendrils of a Sylveon.
Lillie: Daughter of Lusamine, and possibly with no father at all, born of genetic cloning here. (Her canon dad DID raise her, though.) She harbors a deep terror of Pokemon after seeing the destruction they can unleash in their corruption, and to be fair, that is quite sensible. Nonetheless they are drawn to her, and she has been taught how to deal with them and relieve them from their pains. She has a very complicated relationship with her mother, and prefers not to deal with her if she can avoid it at all. Not Endowed herself, she lives off the fleet on one of their worlds, working at a quiet shipping company. Hyper pear shape-type figure! Very close to her Cosmog, which tends to be a floaty shortstack monster girl. Lillie herself often has a cosmic-looking body of black, gaseous substance glowing with starlike shapes. Should she have to power up for a fight, she can materialize the aspects of Lunala (large batlike wings and hard outer shell) and Solgaleo (spiky mane hair, huge claws, organic armor).
Hilda: A good-natured and somewhat BOOYAH type heroine, she is very obviously one of the Endowed, being much taller than any of the other trainer girls and having the absolute largest, most hyper thicc body of anyone of them. Her hair isn’t modded much, it's just really big. Older than any of the other trainers, she’s a mom-friend leader of the magical creature caretakers on the Fleet. Her taste in mods is a bit all over the place, and she favors pretty much any style of mod, with a lean towards raw athletic potential and destructive power. In general, her physical mutations lean towards Tepig tusks and legs, and the thick tail of a Serperior.
Other characters: Characters like Brock, Max, Tracey, Cilan, minor trainers of all sorts, and other characters that don’t seem instantly suitable to the ‘big girls’ nature of the AU. They are most likely all researchers and investigators into the resurgent Pokemon, with twists for their canon interests or expertise, and close to at least a few Pokemon friends: Brock, for instance, is likely a veterinarian for magical beings. They are likely to be in the Fleet, but it's most likely they are just living on its worlds as citizens. Originally part of the Smash Fleet, but headed off on their own after they merged with the MILF Fleet, settling down on various worlds the MILFs claimed.
We can’t forget the most important characters either: the Pokemon themselves. All Pokemon associated with the characters (such as on their teams in the anime) travel with their human friend pretty much full time, without really concerned about team number restrictions, as that’s not a factor here, with no real Elite Four or League questions arising. Some Pokemon may prefer to take a bit of a vacation at the various zoos where animals and beasts of the Fleet or Stingers are cared for, so that can be LIKE the whole ‘hanging out on the ranch’ deal.
Their personalities are pretty much as per canon; protectors are liable to be guardians and proactive fighters on behalf of their friends, the more calm like to sit back and do their own thing and avoid too much adventure, and the more inquisitive or bright might be doing science work. Pokemon in this AU are, fundamentally, people, even if they are eldritch spirit-beings.
GYM LEADERS
Gym Leaders, in this AU, are people who have a long-time expertise understanding Pokemon and working with them, as best they can. Ultimately this may not mean much, based on how dangerous a corrupted Pokemon can be, but they are by far much more experienced than anyone else in a practical sense. Professors are similar, with more interest in theory and research. Given the nature of the AU, they may not even have any connection to Pokemon at all, but be magical researchers in a broader sense pursuing their own investigations entirely. For the most part, assume that they are not connected to the fleet, but are independants, with some exceptions as noted below.
Erika: A motherly and hyper thicc woman (though not Endowed) with plant-like traits; her feet are roots, and flowers sprout from her bust. She enjoys working in the agriculture part of the fleet, using her bond with Grass Pokemon to understand how plants work and devise superior methods of growing crops.
Sabrina: An incredibly powerful psionic, to the point that she is periodically crippled by the intense pain her growing powers can cause her body. She has become Endowed and has gotten better at handling them, but her powers grow in proportion to her expanding body, and so she’s something of a glass cannon. Powerful, but not able to fight for long. Very fit and super thicc, but burns through her curves easily. Often has the big tail and whisker-things of the Abra line.
Whitney: A very big, curvaceous woman that runs a farm on the agriculture fleet ships, favoring Miltank-based mods; she’s effectively a superpower cowgirl at this point! Extremely big, strong, nad using the Rollout power to catapult herself at high speeds, she’s also become a contender in big time racing as well. Uses Miltank mods and LOTS of them; she’s had huge horns, hooves, a bovine tail, and sometimes multi boob when she feels like it.
Claire: Hyper hourglass traveling heroine, seeking out dragon Pokemon to save them from the corruption, often by besting them in physical combat. A hyper hourglass-type, she is incredibly strong, as befits her massive proportions, and bears many dragon-themed mods. Wings sprout from her back, her limbs end in fearsome claws, and her scaly skin resists damage like armor. She may even be able to physically transform into a dragon herself.
Roxanne: A studious, thicc researcher with an affinity for mods that make her more resilient and stonelike, and rumored to have actually spoken with the mysterious Regirock at some point. Sher certainly develops stony skin at times.
Flannery: Big-time hourglass with flame characteristics, and an enthusiastic prizefighter who can fight well against the Fleet’s best when they face off against her. She’s made use of various fire-like mods and strung them together so that she has awakened flame-themed powers by communing with her fire Pokemon friends. Sports a Torkoal shell, as well.
Lenora: A hyper thicc MILF; she’s a gentle soul who has opted to remain with the Fleet, intent on seeing legendary archeological discoveries with her own eyes. She is close with the Megido trolls, and forms a kind of team alongside them when they go to dig zones and ancient sites to explore or examine them. Her mods are mostly subtle (sub-dermal armor, hard nail-claws, enhanced muscles) but can be activated to enhance themselves and mutate for maximum effect. One of the main Pokemon characters of the AU! She can swell her tongue into a massive prehensile form like a Lickiliki, grow large Sawsbuck antlers, Braviary wings and talons, and the fearsome armor of a Kangaskhan mother.
Skyla: an explorer and ace fighter pilot, she enjoys traveling worlds with a small group of flying Pokemon she is working to fully counsel, and is friendly enough with the Fleet, though she finds them a bit wanton. She is thinking about signing up, maybe. Not much of a modder herself, she has still gone in for an unusual mod: built-in organic jet engines on her body, so she can fly on her own! Hyper hourglass, fit body type. She has multiple wings, the different sets various mixtures of avian pokemon (Swanna, Archeops, Braviary, and Mandibuzz), her arms can transform into the multiple limbs of a Drifblim, and she can sport fluffy feathers when she likes.
Olivia: A Fleet member with excellent reputation, a good-natured competitor who does her best to bring out all her opponents have to offer, she has bonded with her own Pokemon friends so well they can fight through her, fusing with her in order to battle effectively. She has innovated the Pokemon fusion techniques, to excellent effect. Hyper thicc, very tall, and Endowed as well. She’s got a wide variety of different mods to choose from, and her most common arsenal includes Armaldo claws and tail (with some armor mods based off them, too), Cradily tendrils, Gigalith spikes, and the jaws and fluff from a Lycanroc.

Goncharenko Yevgeniy, personal bioresearch log.
Third stage.

Liya is most certainly getting better. I like that. The work is still hard, though, but I’m getting a “window” tomorrow. What was the last time I’ve visited my dad? Good thing he works here, in the reactor complex, so, taking the monorail ride will be sufficient to meet him (and when I finally go on vacation, I’m going straight to the capital to meet mom).
EDIT: Apparently, there’ll be a new portion of nuclear fuel, loaded into reactors. I’ve managed to get security clearance for me and Liya, so, tomorrow we are going to go even deeper into facility than before! Gah, this line is SO awful...

*So, are we here yet?* - somewhat nervously asked Latias, looking around. Right now, they were in one of the deeper parts of the facility, where the nuclear reactors were installed. The sheer constant roar of machinery in the turbine hall was unnerving, but now, they were closing to the reactors themselves.
- Almost... - started speaking microbiologist, when the not very old, but well-built man stopped near them and gave them a wide, even somewhat scary, smile.
- Son? Hello! - happily said aged man, pulling Yevgeniy into almost bone-crushing hug. - So, how’re the things going up here, if you didn’t have enough time to write mails to your old dad Klim at least once a week?
- Very busy, - tried to defend himself microbiologist.
- Don’t say ‘dat, where you’ve learned to defend like this, I was the one teaching it! - laughed Klim. - So, where’s my granddaughter?
*I’m here,* - replied Liya, coming out of shadow, still slightly afraid.
- So, that’s it? You know, son, I think you’ve made a damn good job! - proudly said sort-of-grandfather of young Latias. - Don’t dare you think, that we, down there, don’t know a s... something! We, power engineers, know loads of things! I’ve heard she’s very smart for her not even a year! So, Liya, can you tell me, how does the nuclear power plant work?
*Nuclear power plants obtain the heat needed to produce steam to drive the turbines through a nuclear physical process. This process, called fission, entails the splitting of atoms of...*
- Enough, I see ya’ know this. I’m damn proud of my son and you! Ya know, I think you’ll, in time, make a damn good part of the staff up there, in one of the main Divisions, and you’re sure a fine addition to our family from now on!
*So... does me not being human...*
- Shut it at once and don’t say such a stupid things! Of course you’re my granddaughter! - announced Klim, earning some strange looks from his colleagues in process. - No, it does not!
- Warning, shift number 5 - come to your stations! - sounded an announcement from the loudspeaker.
- Time, - shrugged Yevgeniy’s father, then turned to his son and granddaughter. - So, do you come with me or no? I’ve heard you have all clearances, so, just try to follow my instructions and not do anything stupid, okay?
- Okay, - agreed young man and Latias at the same time, proceeding with Klim shortly after. After some walk and taking a ride on the elevator, they’ve found themselves in the long gallery with thick glass, which encirled the fuel storage hall. In one of the corners, there was an entrance to the cabin of parked electrical overhead crane, along with remote control terminal nearby.
- We’ll be loading full set today, and I’m the crane operator. Not that hard, actually. Or, - suddenly turned Klim to the Liya, - does my nice little girl want to try to use the electric overhead crane herself?
*I... not s...* - tried to reply shocked Latias.
- Don’t be afraid, it’s very simple - right stick controls the movement of the crane itself, left - elevation of the grabber and grab-release control, screen shows you the map of working zone and all the data you need. Don’t worry, the automatics will prevent you from crashing fuel rods into anything or like this!
*But...*
- Come on, it can be once-in-a-life event! Do you want to regret it later? Even your dad rode the crane once, when he was fifteen! - continued father of Yevgeniy, not mentioning, that he got a severe reprimand from both superiors and his wife afterwards.
*Okay,* - decided to agree Liya, looking at the seat inside the cabin, turned, for some reason, towards her. - *What do I do now?*
- Take a seat and flick the switches, labeled S1 and S2. This will activate the crane and shift the seat into work mode. Afterwards... well, I’ll contact you, there’s an intercom system inside.
*Understood,* - replied dragon, disguised as human, doing as an old man advised. After two flicks, seat suddenly moved towards the very front of the cabin with a characteristic growl of low-speed engine, then shifted backwards a bit and turned around, giving a nice view on the work zone, while the doors behind her closed, cutting apart the cabin and the gallery, as well as protecting the against the air in the hall.
- -
- You’re sure about this? - asked his father Yevgeniy.
- Absolutely, I’ve let you control the crane back during the work in seaport, after all, - said Klim, taking a seat before the RC terminal. - From here, I can instantly override her controls, if she does something wrong. In fact, I can easily operate the crane remotely every time, it’s just that I prefer controlling it from the cabin.
- For thrill?
- For thrill, - agreed honorable crane operator, activating the intercom to crane’s cabin, - Shift the stick ahead, don’t be afraid!
Since the cabin was cut from the rest of the world by the double-reinforced protective glass and alloys, blocking the radiation and telepathy alike, they didn’t hear her answer, but the sound of engines and movement of crane told them more than that.
- -
“Wow,” - thought Latias, carefully pushing the control stick forward and hearing roar of powerful electric motors, as the entirety of machine started to move.
- Look at the screen. On it, you can see two points, one marked yellow, and one marked blue. The blue point is where you take the fuel assemblies, the yellow one - where you load them into refueling machine. When the refueling machine is operating, it’ll be marked green, but as soon as it’s empty and waiting for another supply, it’ll turn yellow again. Don’t worry - the automatic assist system will prevent you from colliding assemblies or mis-loading them. Move the crane to the stack of fuel, don’t be afraid!
*Okay,* - replied Liya, too concentrated on operating machine to notice, that her telepathy was not able to go beyond walls of radiation-proof cabin, which also blocked psychic abilities.
- Contact zone reached, - notified her computer, when the grabber was positioned right above one of the assemblies in the storage pool. She instantly released the right stick, stopping movement of the crane.
- Good, I see you’re in the right position. Now, open the grabber by pressing the lower button on the left control stick and then gently lower the grabber. As soon as it reaches fuel assembly, it will automatically grab it and lock, then raise itself to safe position. In fact, it shall also open automatically upon reaching the assembly, but better play safe.
This time, Liya did not attempt to reply, too concentrated on carefully lowering the grabber. Keen dragon eyes helped her a little, but the inertia of this thing and water refracting the image made it somewhat harder.
- Attention: assembly retrieval in progress! - finally announced automatic system, when the grabber locked onto a stack of fuel rods and rose up, although not leaving the water.
- Very good. Now, move the crane to the designated point and, as soon as you reach the contact zone, lower it gently. After the lower part of assembly passes the hole’s border, the automatics will take control and finish the procedure.
*Okay...* - telepathically “murmured” Latias, shifting the stick again and carefully passing the stack of the fuel rods through the small channel between pools and driving the crane all the way to the end of the second pool.
- Contact zone reached, - said the assist system once again, so Liya gently lowered the payload.
- Attention: assembly load in progress! - reported the automatics, when the gripper disengaged the fuel assembly got loaded into some machine on the bottom of the pool.
- One loaded into the transfer machine, 65 more to go! - sounded Klim’s voice from the intercom. Just as the Liya got horrified at the very thought of it, microbioligist’s father continued. - No need for you to finish this, though. Drive the crane back here, flick the S2 switch back to open the doors and exit the cabin, then let me take my place. Or you can press the red button, so the crane will drive itself back here. Wait, don’t do it - it’ll count as an accident.
Latias, which was slowly giving in to the realization of the sheer bizareness of the current events, had somehow managed to drive the crane back and exit it, allowing the rightful operator to take his place and continue the operation.
- My dad can be pretty weird sometimes, - commented Yevgeniy on it, seeing, how fast and professionally his father was driving the machine, loading fuel assemblies one after another.
*Maybe,* - agreed Liya, still somewhat shocked by what has just happened. - *So, what do we do now?*
- I suggest we get back to surface, onto test range, and you practice with your moves... your true form moves, I mean.
*Sweet!*
- -
- Aaand another Mist Ball. - said human, looking, how the fifth test dummy already was blown apart by the powerful Psychic move. - Is it your favorite attack?
*Of course!* - replied Latias, shifted into her true form and trying to commence sort-of-a strafing run, which was pretty hard, considering the not-so-big size of the range, - *No one but my kind can use it!*
- Okay, whatever. Are you satisfied yet?
*I am now!* - “said” she after blowing up the last dummy with Hyper Beam and melting a decent patch of snow around it, then slowing down and moving to Yevgeniy’ side. - *So, what do we do now?*
- Go home, I guess, - answered her human, looking at the wristwatch. - It’s almost night already, and I’ve got a lot of work tomorrow.
*Then let’s go!* - cheerfully agreed Liya, finally calming down Yevgeniy, who was still afraid worried her near-depression after the New Year disaster. Several minutes later, they’ve arrived into their quarters (though Liya was forced to temporarily switch from her form to the human one in order to pass through doorframes), then, after a small supper, each went to check their respective terminal.

Grampa’s musings.
Son, I’ve seen your girl, and, let me say it again, I’m damn proud of you. I’ve already phoned your mom and she’s very happy about it. Oh, and I also sent a small edutainment program to our little Liya Yevgeniyevna, which will teach her the basics of operating nuclear powerplant. Of course, I’m sure, that she’ll find something better in her life, but it’s pretty interesting to play and is good for overall development.
Love,
Your rusty old dad.

Shenanigans.
Look, Zhenya, I know you’re my favorite student and microbiologist, I know your great skills and achievements... but isn’t this going a little bit far? And I don’t mean putting just Lati into operating an overhead crane, transporting the nuclear fuel - I mean putting someone with zero experience into operating such a machinery! I know, I know, Klim was ready to take it over at any second, should such a need arise, and she operated it for only a single loading, but still... I hope you’ve got my point. Please, don’t do it again. Think of our image! Though what I’m talking about, being an overseer of this chaos... Please, just don’t make the things worse for us, you and your Lati “daughter”. Thank you for understanding.
With sincere hope,
Vladislav Pobegov.
